Update, you literally crash just going to setup room. So I will spend more time figuring out how to avoid crashing than actually learning the software. ![]() I crashed just looking around for new stuff - empty file. sigh- not 5 minutes after I made that post. Seems like no matter how easy someone tries to make a blender tutorial, it wouldn't be the least surprising if they ever added a "Now rub your belly while holding shift a" command in the process! Seriously, blender with all it's flaws is looking better every day in comparison to the way the other developers present their products. I was really close to getting carrara till i saw that. then say Daz can do it better for free ? totally shot themselves in the foot with that one. and it seems a majority of their user base is from Japan, so I'm sure there is more info in Japanese.Īnd on Daz, I don't get how they can promote carrara as a pro software, but then go on to deny carrara imports to daz. Yeah, to shade's credit though, it looks like they are trying to create a tutorial page on youtube, but so far almost all their videos are about modeling. It's still every bit as inefficient, cumbersome, and confusing as all versions of poser seem to be. I have the free version of Poser 2014, it came free with Anime Studio Pro v 10. One of the things they revamped was the rigging as now they seem to have it categorized as the new rigging vs legacy.Īnyone try it ? it's on sale for 199 - pro version / today is the last day of the sale though I was reviewing poser 2014 - it seems they revamped a few things and added new features. ![]() Maybe henceforth I'll have the same issues as You! It was dated a few months back so I'm surprised I didn't have it already. ![]() Saw nothing relevant but got a notification that a new service release was waiting. Well it's way past bed-time here but I just looked at Poser's preferences. I'm trying to settle into enjoying what I have because 3D seems to give rise to an insatiable need to get this, buy that, upgrade to the next. To me, the figure rivals Daz figures but I haven't learned yet whether this is doomed to be Poser-only. The figure I've had best results in shaping and animating is the new-style 'Roxie' character. I can't imagine that something so fundamental would go wrong in your hands if it didn't in mine Some older software, such as Bryce, used to go somewhere ? and now it needs to go somewhere else ?Ĭ:\ drive versus 'Program Files' directory, or something like that? I wonder whether your Poser is installed in a place which Windows (7 onwards) doesn't like? I liked how you said you probably wouldn't buy the game-dev version and then, in the next post, announced that you'd bought it! The thread constitutes an excellent critique of the software. ![]() You were in advance of me most of the time but now I can understand your findings and experiences much better. Planet, since posting I re-read this whole thread -every page! Maybe it's just me, but I personally believe Poser Pro has a moral obligation to be BETTER than DS4, even if just because we are paying for it, and it's not cheap This shouldn't happen when DS4 is free (including CCT tools), while Poser Pro costs hundreds. I was rather shocked when I found myself having a better experience rigging new figures and conforming clothing in DS than I did in Poser Pro. Although I am a veteran Poser user, I find the content creation tools in DS4.6 way superior to those of Poser Pro 2014, and they cost me nothing to install and use. In general, I see a problem when free tools are better than the paid ones.
